Psyllium Husk Review06.02.09

Many colon cleansing products contain the natural ingredient called Psyllium Husk, which is obtained from the outside coating of the seed of the plant called Psyllium. The husks are transformed to be put into capsule form for oral supplements and are also grinded into a powder for other uses such as colon cleansing products.
These seeds are also being used for many different types of illnesses, ie., for easing the pain of cystitis and hemorrhoids, getting rid of diarrhea and bowel problems. It is also known to have an anti-inflammatory effect and has been used in conditions as Type 2 diabetes, weight loss, yeast infections and for maintaining a healthy blood pressure as well as cholesterol levels.
The husks swells up to 8 to 16 times its normal size and weight, when it gets mixed with water. Once it is taken in, it forms a gelatin like mixture in the colon and helps to put an end to diarrhea while cleansing the colon, ridding it of unwanted built up fecal matter. It also helps to soften the stool, allowing to pass it out with much ease.
Psyllium husk can be taken on its own, but it may cause digestive problems, it can be added with an Activated Charcoal or Bentonite Clay to be used for a colon cleanse. You can mix just one teaspoon either with water, juices, soups and stews as well as with many other foods. You should drink plenty of fluids both before and after taking Psyllium husk to avoid dehydration because it increase the amount of moisture in your bowels.
Pregnant women should stay away from this colon cleanser and look for something a bit milder. This method also works best for anyone, when taken in between meals.
According to Doctors, a healthy colon normally produces up to three bowel movements per day. If you find you are not producing at least one per day, then you may need to cleanse your colon with Psyllium husk, the natural ingredient that has no side effects.

Well, waste material, especially that which has remained in the colon for some time, poses several problems. First this material is quite toxic. These poisons can re-enter and circulate in the blood stream making us feel ill, tired or weak. Second, impacted materials impair the colon's ability to assimilate minerals and bacteria- produced vitamins. And finally, a build-up of material on the colon wall can inhibit muscular action causing sluggish bowel movements, constipation, and the result of these disorders.
