It has been stated over and again that the colon must be in a healthy form or else it may have a direct impact over the optimal health of an individual. If the colon is unclean or isn’t functioning inefficiently, then it could lead to sever health related concerns. There could be serious health implications like colon cancer. Hence, neglecting it may not be the right thing to do.

In UK, there have been quite a few cases identified for colon cancer and rectal cancer too. The facts suggest that colon cancer is the second leading form of cancer in the UK.

There is a lot of exposure given to colon cancer or unhealthy colon. The subject matter is being discussed at different levels so that people in and around the globe get a message about the importance of maintaining a healthy colon. Major functions like of our digestive system can be affected with unhealthy colon. It all comes to what we eat, if you are not watching what you eat then the problem is meant to get worse. The British diet in general is filled processed foods that are high in flour, fats, sugar etc. and low in fibre; this is what is adding onto the problem of colon. Over the course of time, colon will stop functioning to its ability and the internal processing will not be the same anymore and hence this is one of the reasons why people experience constipation.

There are not many who are aware of the fact that old, hardened faeces are found on the walls of colon. Not many understand or notice that all this narrows down the stool passage and they feel it is normal.

You can use colon hydrotherapy to get rid of the colon waste. However, it is not always true that people have lost weight with colon cleansing, but in some cases significant difference in terms of weight has been noticed.

There are a few conditions that may make you feel the need for colon hydrotherapy. A few of them are:
• Diarrhoea
• Headaches
• Constipation
• Skin problems
• Backaches
• Irritability
• Food cravings
• Arthritis
• Hypertension
• Abdominal gas
• Asthma
• Menstrual problems
• Allergies

Well, waste material, especially that which has remained in the colon for some time, poses several problems. First this material is quite toxic. These poisons can re-enter and circulate in the blood stream making us feel ill, tired or weak. Second, impacted materials impair the colon's ability to assimilate minerals and bacteria- produced vitamins. And finally, a build-up of material on the colon wall can inhibit muscular action causing sluggish bowel movements, constipation, and the result of these disorders.
